Westbury FM hires top team from signage maintenance firm Blaze Maintenance.

Jason Robson Philip Dodds Blaze Maintenance

Westbury FM has secured the top team from Blaze Maintenance to enhance their end-to-end signage solution and create a national Sign Maintenance and Manufacturing Division.

Westbury FM, a fast-growing facilities maintenance service provider, delivers planned and rapid response facilities management to the commercial sector. Westbury services more than 3000 large-scale multi-site operations and individual sites in London and the Southeast.

Blaze Maintenance Limited was established in 1983 and built a reputation for the quality of service and reliability in signage maintenance and installation over forty years.

Blaze Maintenance Limited ceased trading on April 12th after 40 years of operation. In a social media update, the company, which directly employed crews of maintenance engineers strategically located nationwide, appealed to the industry on behalf of its talented, loyal and dedicated staff.

In the first instance, Westbury immediately appointed Jason Robson (Business Development Manager) and Philip Dodds (Signage Engineers Manager) to establish a nationwide sign maintenance and manufacturing Division.

Jason Robson brings seven years of experience in the BDM role, successfully building lasting relationships with key accounts and clients with up to 1000 sites. He has managed national contracts on huge nationwide multi-site accounts and reactive, planned and preventative maintenance contracts within signage in retail and other sectors.

Philip Dodds has ten years of experience managing a national team of installers and signage maintenance engineers. He has competently managed high-profile projects in the UK and Europe and has extensive sector knowledge working on reactive, planned and preventative maintenance programmes.

The appointments will enable Westbury FM to increase service offerings with signage maintenance and sign manufacturing to enhance competitive advantage and improve operational efficiencies.

Sonia Murton, Managing Director of Westbury FM, said:

“We are delighted to strengthen our team with these strategic appointments, which represent a natural add-on to the Westbury FM business and fit perfectly into our strategy to offer a holistic solution to our growing portfolio of clients on some 3000 sites in the Southeast.

We have previously worked with Blaze to offer enabling works in signage projects, and now we can provide a full scope of work with our regular FM business.

Our 24/7 helpdesk is managed by an experienced customer care team at an onsite contact centre, trained to diagnose and respond to commercial property maintenance issues. This will allow us geographical expansion, additional coverage, and a nationwide focus.”

Jason Robson, Business Development Manager, said:

“This is an exciting time for us all. We are establishing a nationwide comprehensive signage maintenance service by working with a capable team of experienced multi-skilled engineers, fit-out professionals, and signage maintenance specialists.

The timing is perfect as we approach the deadline for the RoHS Directive (EU) 011/65/EU and the Ecodesign Regulation (EU) 2019/2020 bill in 2023. This means that lamps and luminaires that don’t meet minimum efficiency values can no longer be sold. Retail customers must adapt to these changes by phasing out non-compliant lamps and luminaires in signage, investing in compliant alternatives, and adjusting sourcing strategies. We are best placed to support them in achieving compliance.
